Optimizing Video Transfer Over UDP with H.264, Forward Error Correction, and Multiport Transmission
Transmission of video through UDP has become popular in real time appli- cations because of low delay. However, traditional UDP does not possess the necessary means of error control and reliability to provide an acceptable video quality under rather poor network conditions. The current paper proposes a new method of RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT VIDEO TRANSMISSION OVERUDP using H.264 compression, forward error correction and multiport transmis- sion. The proposed system also improves the quality of videos mainly because H. 264 has been used for the compression thereby making the bandwidth demands low but the quality high. FEC also enhances loss recovery without demanding retransmission of the lost packet and, as for multiport transmission, it optimizes mistakes tolerance and balances the network load. This evaluation establishes how beneficial this approach is, by proving high packet delivery, video quality, and transmission effectiveness over UDP and other similar improvements. Thus, the proposed framework is appropriate for applications where the video quality has to be dependable and delivered in real-time: telemedicine, video surveillance, live broadcasting, and other similar cases
