Guardian Angel (GPS Tracker For Dimentia People)
The Guardian Angel is a device based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that aims to assist people with dementia. It utilizes a module called A9G board, which combines GPS, GPRS, and GSM technologies to track the user's location and make voice calls. The device is activated when the user presses a button for at least 5 seconds, sending a message and calling a designated caregiver. This paper presents the development and evaluation of the Guardian Angel device, describing its hardware and software components, design process, and testing procedures. The results demonstrate the device's effectiveness in accurately tracking location and making calls with high reliability. Users and caregivers have provided positive feedback, stating that the device is user-friendly and provides a sense of security and reassurance. To summarize, the Guardian Angel device has the potential to improve the safety and overall quality of life for people with dementia. Additionally, it can provide critical assistance to caregivers and healthcare professionals, making it a valuable tool for supporting individuals with dementia. In addition to assisting individuals with dementia, the Guardian Angel device could also benefit children who do not have mobile phones. As the device makes voice calls and sends messages, it can serve as a communication tool for children in case of emergencies, providing added safety and security for both the child and their caregiver. The potential impact of the Guardian Angel device on child safety is significant, as it can reduce the risk of child abduction, getting lost, or other safety hazards.
