IoT Empowered Smart Ambulance For Life Saving Response System.
When people are in emergencies or situations that pose a threat to their lives, ambulances are often used to carry them to hospitals. A patient's health issues could become life-threatening especially during road accidents if they are not addressed and treated right away. During the occurrence of road accidents, the possibility of saving lives can be greatly increased by the real-time transmission of patient’s medical data to the medical staff. Life of an accident victim can be saved by transmitting vital signs of a victim from an ambulance or on-site triage center to a hospital at once. By knowing the medical history of victim in advance and current status, would help the medical staff to prepare for treating critical patients. The concept of Smart Ambulance helps the emergency staff for tracking the ambulances. Fingerprint module sensor helps the emergency staffs monitor patient's condition while they are moving towards the hospitals and fetch their previous medical history of the patients. With the support of doctor’s advice, paramedics observe the status of the patients and stabilize the patient's situation before they reach to the designated hospitals. In this paper, we propose a minimal cost IoT-based system for tracking, archiving, analyzing patient vital sign data as they are transmitted in real time from Smart Ambulances to Smart Hospitals. Previous studies talk about the live monitoring of patient’s vital signs. But here, the suggested system's functioning is verified not just as a proof of concept by creating a prototype model using medical sensors integrated into a board and an application for live and remote monitoring by the smart hospitals but also supports in identifying the patients to fetch their previous medical records through fingerprint sensor module for analyzing and preparing in advance for the treatment even before the patient arrives the hospital . Results of proposed system are also discussed to support the functioning of the system. It is envisaged that the proposed system will make a significant contribution to saving lives.
